Montana Department of Labor & Industry
American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA)
Montana’s most precious natural resource is its workforce, which is why Governor Brian Schweitzer is making sure that every dollar intended to help the workforce through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) is utilized.
The Department of Labor and Industry is dedicated to making sure that no stone is left unturned when it comes to providing the services, benefits and training opportunities for Montana’s workforce and that every cent provided by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act is accounted for.
The Department of Labor and Industry oversees several of the existing programs that will receive additional funding through ARRA.
The Workforce Services Division is monitoring additional funding for the Workforce Investment Act (WIA), Senior Community Service Employment Program, State Employment and Reemployment services based on current Wagner/Peyser funding, and the temporary expansion of the Trade Adjustment Assistance Program.
The Unemployment Services Division is monitoring additional funding for unemployment benefits, the extension of benefits, and the UI Modernization Act.
The Governor’s Office on Community Service is overseeing the additional grant money designated for Montana’s AmeriCorps volunteer program.
