American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) Information

A Message from Director Tim Reardon

These are exciting times in Montana. The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) will infuse at least $227 million into Montana's transportation systems. This will help spark Montana's economy, creating and supporting thousands of jobs.

The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) is making sure every dollar available is invested for the long-term benefit of Montanans. Highway projects have been identified across the state for use of the Montana reinvestment funds.

These projects were chosen based on project readiness and delivery as well as their benefit to economically distressed areas of the state. They are projects in the MDT Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) and approved by the Transportation Commission. They have been vetted through the public involvement and environmental process and are well into the right-of-way and design phases.

ARRA funds are also being invested through other programs for transit, aviation and rail.  More information is available on these programs through the links on this site.  If you have questions, comments or suggestions, please be sure to contact us.

Serving you with pride,

Tim Reardon
